What a wonderful day Abby & I had in Nelson yesterday. It was so good to see everyone again, and for Abby to have some special time with Mum, before she heads into the wide blue yonder with Jason. We took some awesome pics and will attach one here. It was a great opportunity to meet Billie-Jean too; what a stunning wee girl she is. And of course to catch up with Jimmy again too. We can't wait for him and Ben to come over and stay at the end of the month.
Anna, thank goodness you didn't come into the airport and wait with us; our plane was delayed for what seemed like hours! When we couldn't see it on the departures TV, and went and asked what the story was and we were told it was delayed (the incoming aircraft) indefinitely due to bad weather across the country! About half an hr later we heard repeated boarding calls for the flight scheduled prior to ours, so I said to Abby to find out if there were any spare seats. Voila!! Two with our names on them - well sort of! So we grabbed the boarding passess and were out of there! However we ended up sitting on the tarmack for another 15mins while the pilots waited for clearance to take off, but eventually lifted off about quarter to eight! Fortunately the weather wasn't too bad back in the big smoke and we didn't get wet walking back to the car, which we'd parked miles away in a residentail area. So all in all an eventful day! I think Rex was quite pleased to see us when we walked through the door!
I've been thinking of you today Anna and hoped the PA meeting went well. I'm sure it went fantastically. Hope Phil is feeling better.
Better go and organise Abby's roast lamb birthday dinner! Thanks again for everything yesterday - we had an awesome day!
hugs & kisses,
Trish

What a nightmare trip home! I was thinking of you all the time, and just assumed you'd be well and truly home by 8 o'clock!!
The performance meeting was as bad if not worse than I imagined, but stuck to my guns. Should have walked out feeling a million dollars as I got an overall exceeds rating and a 3.8% pay increase ... but felt like I'd been through the ringer and doing a crap job!
Talked to Rach for about an hour tonight in Spain. She's LOVING it and having a ball. Wishing I was there big time. Oh well ... perhaps when she turns 40!!
Really sorry to hear about the PM. How bizarre to put you through the ringer, and then give you an exceeds rating and a pay rise! Shouldn't he have been glowing about you from the moment you stepped into his office? MEN - they sure are from Mars sometimes!
Awesome to read that you talked to Rach the other night - do give her our love for her b'day tomorrow if you talk to her again soon. We are thinking of her, and imagining that they are just having the best time. I can hardly believe they're in Spain. Won't she have some stories to tell one day.........!!
And I imagine Abby will start making some magical memories of her own soon too. It was SO hard saying goodbye yesterday. I have been a write-off today, and am only starting to feel a bit better now. Just wanted to keep holding her and never let go. She was just as distraught, and it was almost unbearable for her leaving Az. Hopefully they'll be home again soon (Ab said within a yr) to get their passports stamped before going back to jobs. It's tough being a Mum sometimes, isn't it.
Hey Anna, have you checked out the comment on your entry introducing Billie-Jean. We have a rogue attachment by the name of Rodiguez (sp from memory)!! Check it out!
Hope Phil is feeling a bit better now.
Hugs & kisses
Trish & Rex
